It snowed during all night on the valley and the morning sun pains to drive out the clouds. The summits are immaculate and the powder avalanches prevailing on the peaks were heard. The villagers, as for them, hastened to protect their potato harvests which they had unearthed the day before, and drink bowls of butter yak tea. These Nepalese of Tibetan origin wait for the good weather by drinking "chang", a very appreciated fermented barley beer. They scoff us to have chosen this season because the winter does not end… We should indeed turn back because the snow cover becomes dangerous. Disappointed, we leave our host families and cross the glacial river to the bottom of the valley.
