After more than a couple of months in the indian Himalaya, we chose to follow the Ganga, mother of every Hindus, in order to reach Varanasi, a true symbol of religious India. Also called Benares during the colonial era, or "Kashi", the luminous, by its devotees, the city was founded by Shiva. Entirely dedicated to this God of destruction, it is a city in which pilgrims feel closer to their gods. Inhabitants and pilgrims do their daily ablutions in the Ganga to purify themselves, wash their sins, but also to die. In fact, the elderly, widowed and sick spend their last days in this incredible city, hoping to reach immediately the "moksha" - the illumination...
