Occupying a vast territory in north-west India, the state of Rajasthan emerged after the english colonial era, from a mosaïc of 18 feodal kingdoms anciently called "Rajputana", Land of Kings. The Aravalli range divides the state between the fertile valley of Dundhar and the wide Thar desert. Rajasthan also concentrates amazing riches piled-up throughout the centuries by the different maharadjas protecting their cities : Jaïpur the red, Jodhpur the blue, Jaisalmer the yellow, and Udaïpur the white.
