The three largest states in North-Eastern America are the states of Pennsylvania, New York and Maine. Thus, they are quite suitable for a road trip, which remains one of the few ways to appreciate, not only the geography diversity but the similarities between the regions. During short car trips, mostly on small side roads, we traveled through remote Pennsylvania (to the sound of old country music songs), toured the villages and mountains of the State of New York (with a canoe trek through many lakes), then along the Atlantic coast of Maine between beaches and fishing ports (alternating with a thick fog and a bright sun) ...
