Tibetan Qiang or Khamba, merchants of Tagong, stock breeders of Dege, nomads of the Chola mountains in Ganzi, Litang or Zhongdian… through their features, their traditional clothes and their ornaments, the faces of these men and women reflect the history and the habits of this formerly Tibetan area. Proud of their identity, these minorities however see a growing number of Chinese Han coming to settle in the cities of Chengdu, Leshan and Kunming. The diversity of the people we met makes it possible to seize the complexity of this area where the inhabitants are divided between the desire to preserve their traditional way of life while having to fight against the influence of Chinese Han coming from the East. Portraits of Tibetan China in danger.
