Located in the North-western part of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, the area of Kham gathers tens of villages formerly a part of Tibet. If the Han Chinese gradually settle there today, Kham did not lose its Tibetan heart. Respectful of their traditions, the Qiang and Khamba ethnic groups are at the image of this area where religion daily governs the inhabitants. From monasteries where young lamas train to coloured gompa, as well as the prayer flags on the cols and important crossing points… everything here shows the omnipresence of Buddhism in everyone's life. It's with a prayer wheel in one hand and a mala chain in the other that we'll keep the image of these men and women.
